| Over het wijnhuis | Château du Domaine de l'Église werd voor het eerst genoemd in 1589 in de “Vieux Papiers du Libournais” en maakt Château du Domaine de l'Église het oudste landgoed van Pomerol. Het dankt zijn naam aan de kerk, waar het landgoed praktisch naast ligt, vlakbij Petrus. Inmiddels is het in handen van de familie Casteja, die meer op hun naam hebben staan, zoals Château Trotte Vieille in Saint-Émilion en Château Batailley in Pauillac. |

| Awards | "Dark color with aromas of orange peel, blackberries, blackcurrants and flowers. Medium-bodied with refined tannins and a silky and pretty finish. Reserved and balanced. Typical Pomerol, as always. 98% merlot and 2% cabernet franc. Drink after 2028." - James Suckling "The 2022 Domaine de l'Eglise has a perfumed, floral bouquet with a crushed violet aroma infusing the blackcurrant and bilberry fruit tones. The oak is nicely integrated. The palate is medium-bodied and harmonious, with sappy blackberry and black pepper notes and a fleshy, smooth finish. It's not the most complex Pomerol yet it has charm and will appeal to those seeking a slightly more opulent style." - Vinous "Heavily scented aromatics full of milk chocolate, pink flowers and ripe bramble fruit. Quite a charged expression on the palate with plenty of sticky black fruit, liquorice and toasted cedar as well as flashes of heat from the alcohol.
