Awards | "Pretty spice, dried mushroom, lavender, violet and subtle currant aromas and flavors. Medium body, fine tannins and delicious freshness. Nicely done for the vintage. Drinkable now but can improve for three to six years." - James Suckling "The 2021 Poujeaux put in a good performance from barrel. Now in bottle, it has a clean and well-defined nose that demonstrates slightly more fruit concentration than its peers: black cherries, raspberry, sea spray and light estuarine scents. The palate is medium-bodied with granular tannins. This is a slightly austere Poujeaux, yet it retains balance and offers more complexity compared to others, lightly spiced toward the finish with decent length. Drink this over the next 15 years." - Vinous "Nice fragrance on the nose, perfumed and vibrant with red and black fruits. Smooth and round, but straight too, nice definition, a shot of bright acidity with slightly tangy black berry fruit, mineral sides and just gripping salty, stony tannins. Good balance and weight on the palate, not light or too austere, but mouthwatering with character and length. Not shouting but quite complete." - Decanter |
