| Awards | "The 2022 Rocheyron is showing beautifully in bottle, wafting from the glass with aromas of blackberries, plums and mulberries mingled with subtle hints of licorice, bay leaf and violets. Medium to full-bodied, layered and velvety, it's deep and enveloping, its succulent core of fruit framed by sweet, velvety tannins. As readers may remember, it's a blend of 72% Merlot and 28% Cabernet Franc from the limestone slopes of Saint-Emilion." - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate "Intense aromas of forest-floor fruits, fresh rosemary and balsamic. Very complex. Medium- to full-bodied with salty undertones. The crunchy and velvety tannins have a cashmere texture and a lively, salty, chalky character. Wow. From the owner of Pingus and Peby-Faugeres. A blend of 80% merlot and 20% cabernet franc. Best after 2030." - James Suckling "80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc. Certified organic and biodynamic. Cask sample. Pure, precise and long. Juicy and quite dense but measured in terms of concentration. Restrained in style but has energy. Saline note on the finish. Will be interesting to see where this goes. (JL)" - Jancis Robinson "Peter Sisseck handed me a half-bottle of his 2022 Rocheyron to taste. It has an intense and quite floral bouquet, a mixture of red and black fruit, touches of melted tar and truffle. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, very pure with a fine backbone, light saline notes commingling with cracked black pepper toward the finish. Fine crescendo on this Saint-Émilion and it will deserve 4-5 years in bottle. Excellent." - Vinous "Warmed cassis and linzer torte notes are pushed by melted red licorice and fruitcake details as this moves along steadily. A roasted apple wood accent lends energy and focus to the grippy finish, where floral and savory hints echo in the background, adding latent energy. Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2027 through 2042. Tasted twice, with consistent notes." - Wine Spectator |
