Over het wijnhuis	Clos Saint Jean kan probleemloos gerekend worden tot één van de tophuizen uit de appellatie. Het is een bedrijf met een enorme historie aan internationale topscores. Clos Saint Jean maakt Châteauneuf-du-Pape zoals Châteauneuf-du-Pape bedoeld is. Daarnaast maakt het wijnhuis ook een Vin de Pays de Vaucluse die behoort tot de beste uit de regio.
Wijngaard en regio	Afkomstig van wijngaarden in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. De Grenache is zeer oud, want aangeplant in 1905.
Vinificatie	Na de oogst worden de druiven ontsteeld. Vervolgens worden de druiven apart van elkaar vergist in betonnen vaten. Dit kan, inclusief schilweking, tot 35 dagen duren. Na de gisting ondergaat Grenache een rijping in betonnen vaten voor 9 maanden. De Mourvèdre rijpt 9 maanden in demi-muids (houten vaten van druivenrassen worden opgevoed in eikenhouten vaten.
Kleur	Donker robijnrood.
Geur	Pruimen, bramen en gedroogd fruit. Kruidige tonen van laurier, drop en tijm. Leer en chocolade.
Smaak	Zeer krachtige, imposante wijn met donkere fruittonen. Veel structuur. Vol en rijk met stevige tannine en verrassende zuren. Zeer veel lengte.
