| Over het wijnhuis | De wijngaarden van het in de Rheingau gevestigde wijnhuis van August Kesseler staan hoofdzakelijk aangeplant op de prachtige en bij wijnliefhebbers befaamde Assmannshäuser Höllenberg en Rüdesheimer-berg Schlossberg. Deze steile hellingen, met uitzicht op de Rijn, staan voor 60% aangeplant met Riesling en voor 40% met Pinot Noir. |
| Wijngaard en regio | Afkomstig van wijngaarden op de steile hellingen in Assmannshausen. De wijnstokken zijn tot 80 jaar oud. De bodem bestaat uit leisteen en kwartsiet. |
| Vinificatie | De druiven worden met de hand geplukt en vervolgens nogmaals geselecteerd. Elk perceel wordt apart gevinifieerd. De gisting vindt plaats op een gecontroleerde temperatuur in RVS tanks. Daarna ondergaat de wijn een rijping in eikenhouten vaten. |

Dark cherry, dark chocolate, vivid, juicy red cherry and cranberry fill the nose. A combination of utter freshness and sumptuous ripeness defines the smooth, fluid palate. Black cherry juiciness and cocoa unite in the ripe, detailed tannins while that freshness delineates everything. Its elegance and finesse will become ever more apparent in time, but for now, there is still some fruity baby fat. Nonetheless, the structure here is elongated, elegant and firm. Very fine.
