| Over het wijnhuis | Château Calon-Ségur is een 3e Grand Cru Classé en het oudste wijngoed van Saint-Estèphe met roots die teruggaan naar 1147. Door de eeuwen heen hebben verschillende eigenaren de revue gepasseerd, maar als we er één moeten uitlichten is het wel de Markies de Ségur, een belangrijke speler in de geschiedenis van Bordeaux. Niet alleen bezat hij top-châteaux, waaronder Lafite Rothschild en Latour, ook was hij verantwoordelijk voor het hartvormige logo van Calon-Ségur. |

Offering up aromas of cassis, plums, burning embers and spices, framed by a deft touch of new oak, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and structured, with impressive density and muscle, built for the cellar." - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate "This has a lot of length for a second wine, showing muscular and very fine tannins that are integrated and intense. Medium-bodied, with blackcurrant and crushed-stone aromas. A little tight but this also has an ease about it with density to the grippy tannins that have a fruity, fleshy aspect to them as well as a clear wet stone, slate minerality that lingers on the tongue. A little firm on the finish, but structured and polished still with a juicy mouthwatering red cherry centre. Will be nice to taste it calms. Not so long but there’s nice character here nonetheless. 3.6pH. Ageing 17 months, 30% new. 1% Petit Verdot completes the blend." - Decanter |
