| Over het wijnhuis | Giacomo Bologna was en is met zijn nagelaten wijnhuis Braida de Barbera-koning van Piemonte. Het prachtige wijnhuis met restaurant in Rocchetta Tanaro, aan de Tanaro-rivier, is voor veel wijnliefhebbers het schoolvoorbeeld voor wijnen gemaakt van Barbera. Bologna creëerde in de jaren ’80 een stijl Barbera die tot die tijd nog niet bestond: handmatige selectie, temperatuurgecontroleerde vergisting en rijping op nieuw Frans eikenhout. |
| Wijngaard en regio | Afkomstig van de wijngaarden gelegen op de heuvels van Monferrato. Il Bacialé is Piemontees dialect voor de 'matchmaker' die vroeger leden van vooraanstaande families bij elkaar gebracht. Net als deze wijn, waar Barbera een perfect huwelijk aangaat met andere druiven. |
| Vinificatie | De druiven worden apart gevinifieerd in RVS tanks. Daarna rijpt de wijn in kleine en grote eikenhouten vaten voor 12 maanden. De wijn rust na de botteling nog 6 maanden op de fles. |
