Awards "Subtle cocoa powder with cassis, blackberries and chili chocolate on the nose. Juicy and fine-grained on the palate with a medium body and a juicy, mineral finish. Not quite intense but this is pretty delicate and nuanced at the end. Drink now through to 2028." - James Suckling

"58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, 6% Petit Verdot. Deepest crimson. Relatively closed on the nose but with a suggestion of pure cassis without any unwanted sweetness. Firm, dry, powerfully structured and with the acidity just a little spiky. Not yet harmonious. Hard to know how this will age. (JH)" - Jancis Robinson

"The 2021 Le Crock is bright and nicely focused, which is to say: very much in the style of the year. Vibrant acids lift a core of red-toned fruit. Cedar, tobacco, scorched earth and grilled herbs develop in the glass, adding layers of nuance and character." - Vinous

"Under the same ownership as Château Léoville Poyferré in Saint-Julien, this estate is named after the depression below the vineyard. This is ripe and concentrated, rich in tannins and structure. It is an impressive wine, beautifully textured and ready to drink from 2027." - Wine Enthusiast

"Almost a ginger tone to the nose, it's so fresh: Chinese spices, raspberry and violets. Super-tannic and youthful, high toned and a little bit austere, coating the mouth with fine but grippy texture. The fruit is rich and there is a nice seductive side to it, perfumed and so deep, it really settles on the mid-palate, giving you so much fragrance and flavour. Juicy and alive, refreshing but with quite a serious core. Great menthol ending. A lovely St-Estèphe, clearly still a baby that will need to grow over ageing but lovely initial elements and balanced all the way through to a long finish. 7% Petit Verdot completes the blend. 3.70pH. 14-18 months ageing in oak barrels, 30% new." - Decanter
