Over het wijnhuis	Het historische wijnhuis van Dr. Bürklin-Wolf behoort niet alleen tot de absolute top van de Duitse wijnregio Pfalz, maar zelfs tot de wijngrootheden van Duitsland. Het wijnhuis heeft een indrukwekkend en zeer uitgebreid bezit in een aantal van de mooiste wijngaarden van de Pfalz. Dr. Bürklin-Wolf werkt volledig biologisch-dynamisch om wijnen met zoveel mogelijk terroirexpressie te maken. En of dat is gelukt! De (altijd droge) Rieslings van Dr. Bürklin-Wolf combineren de kracht en rijkheid van de Pfalz met een waanzinnige finesse en plaatsgebondenheid.
Wijngaard en regio	Afkomstig uit de wijngaard Altenburg in het dorp Wachenheim in de Mittelhaardt in de Duitse wijnregio Pfalz. De wijngaard ligt op 130-150 meter hoogte en is gelegen op het oosten. De bodems bevatten veel löss en zandsteen.
Vinificatie	De druiven worden als hele trossen geperst. Het sap wordt spontaan vergist. De wijn rijpt in grote, gebruikte eikenhouten vaten. De wijn rijpt daarbij 'sur lie', wat de wijn extra complexiteit en romigheid geeft.
Kleur	Lichtgeel.
Geur	Abrikoos en geel fruit. Specerijen en kruiden.
Smaak	Elegante Riesling met geel fruit en tonen van natte steen, kalk en zilt.
Serveren bij	Lekker bij gebraden kip met citroen en tijm.

Awards	"The 2023 Altenburg Wachenheim P.C. is precise and savory on the elegant and classical, slightly flinty and coolish, very stimulating nose. Full-bodied, intense and fleshy on the palate, this is a mouth-filling Riesling with less energy than textural qualities that are framed by serious tannins and ripe lemon bitters on the finish. This is a Riesling for richer dishes that could also be paired with a red wine. 13.5% stated alcohol. Diam 30 cork. The fruit stays pristine and healthy, but ferments are always slow. The palate has great equanimity, substance and fruit. An inner juiciness reminds me of yellow apples. This wine finished with 4g/L of residual sweetness, the highest of the entire vintage (bar Hommage). The 2023 is bright, rounded and smooth.
