Druivenras Nebbiolo
Serveertemperatuur 15-18 °C

Awards "Zwoel, kersen, rokerig, ingetogen, maggi, laurier. Zacht en kruidig, mooie tannine, elegant, lengte." - Perswijn

"Notes of fresh red and dark berries with crushed violets, plum skins and wet stones. Medium- to full-bodied with wide and velvety tannins and a vivid core of fruit in the middle. It’s bright and mouthwatering with a mineral, lightly chewy finish. Very balanced and focused. Try from 2027." - James Suckling

"Cask sample. Mid ruby. Ripe cherry nose but fresh and with a hint of mace. Lively cherry-fruit palate with juicy acidity. Coating tannins reveal themselves especially on the finish. Supple, long, youthful and lively yet with plenty of substance." - Jancis Robinson

"Giacomo Fenocchio ferments his wines using their own natural yeasts, with long maceration and ageing in large Slavonian oak casks for 30 months. Villero, based on sandstone like Rocche di Castiglione or Monprivato, is more generous than the latter two MGAs due to its southwest exposition. Bright garnet in the glass, its intense framboise sauvage aroma allied to leafy lightness and earthy depth of minerality shine. Dried cherry and tar emerge with time: a classic Barolo definition. The attack is relaxing and dense with lots of sucrosity. Firm, dusty tannins, large and ripe, are accompanied by crisp acidity and great length." - Decanter

"The 2019 Barolo Bussia is another inward, bruising wine from Claudio Fenocchio. Dark, balsamic and imposing, the Bussia has a good bit of complexity, but is not showing much today. I am not sure if the huge tannins will ever soften here." - Vinous

"A camphor aroma mingles with white pepper, scorched earth and ripe dark-skinned berry in this classically crafted Barolo. Full-bodied and savory, it shows elegance and tension, offering flavors of ripe Morello cherry, blood orange and licorice before a minty close. Tightly knit, fine-grained tannins offer austere support. Drink 2024–2029." - 94 punten, Wine Enthusiast over de 2017-vintage

"The Villero cru is quickly gaining in prestige and celebrity. The 2016 Barolo Villero raises the bar on this group of new releases from Giacomo Fenocchio. If some of the other Baroli are slightly muddled in aromas, this wine shows a greater degree of focus and precision. You are aware of clear aromas of black fruit, plum, spice, leather and cured tobacco. The tannins are textured but integrated into the rich fiber of this vintage." - 92 punten, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate over de 2016-vintage
